      It is everyone’s privilege to believe whatever seems most fitting to his or her concepts.  However, doomsday literature and movie scripts claim to have knowledge from the Bible and other ancient records.  Books are being published and movies are being produced which paint a very grim picture of the future of mankind; some even claim that there may not be a future !

      After one such movie, the television program ended with a reporter who interviewed people in the streets, asking them what they would do if there were the beginning of these nuclear disasters that were prophesied long ago.  
An elderly woman waved her hand and answered that she hoped not to be around anymore at that time.  
A woman in her early thirties, who had four little children with her, looked at the reporter, then at each one of her children, shrugged and said after a deep, heavy sigh, “I will kill my children first and then myself....” 
I wept when I heard that.  
With me were four young people who had also watched the program. They too shrugged and agreed that it was of no use to make any plans for the future.  
Who wanted to live in a world where nuclear powers caused mutations in people, birds, animals and vegetation ? 

      That evening, when I was alone, I decided to check out all available publications I could get my hands on and trace the Bible verses that these authors of doomsday literature quoted and interpreted, I wanted to see if they were truly of this meaning !

      I tried to put myself into the situation of millions of readers, who too read such literature but simply do not have the opportunity and time to do their own research for the sake of building their own, solid foundation of what to believe.  Gradually, the young mother and her four children came to mind again, an image which I could not forget...
